Dr. David Kendall Director General, Science and Technology, Canadian Space Agency "Canada's Future in Space -Building the Next Generation"
The CASI Toronto Branch is delighted to welcome Dr. David Kendall as our guest speaker at our 2012 Annual Dinner Meeting and Awards Night.
Dr. David Kendall is Director General of the Space Science and Technology branch of the Canadian Space Agency. He is also a faculty member of the International Space University based in Strasbourg, France. Dr. Kendall is a full member of the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) and serves on numerous national and international advisory committees and working groups, including as a Vice President of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF). He leads the Canadian delegation at the Science and Technology sub-committee of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (UN COPUOS), and is a Canadian delegate to the ESA Council. He is currently the Chair of the Inter-Agency Space Debris Coordination Committee (IADC) and a past co-chair of a subgroup of the international ad hoc Group on Earth Observations (GEO), as well as a past Bureau member of the Committee on Space Research (COSPAR). In 2002, Dr. Kendall was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal in recognition of his significant contributions and achievement to Canada. He is a member of the American Geophysical Union and is listed in Canadian Who's Who.
The evening will begin with refreshments, and the opportunity to socialize and network with friends and colleagues from the Greater Toronto Area aerospace community, followed by a sit-down dinner. It will also feature the presentation of the CASI Toronto Branch Student Awards, recognizing the top graduating students in the aerospace programs at Ryerson University, Seneca College, University of Toronto, and York University.
