We hope you can join us at our upcoming, free public event!  

View the Transit of Venus at the University of Waterloo!

 

Attend EventTuesday, June 5th
Location: BMH Green

University of Waterloo

5:00pm - 8:00pm

The community is invited to join University of Waterloo Physics & Astronomy professors, students, and members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada to watch Venus track across the face of the Sun. This astronomical event that will not occur again until 2117!

 

Activities include:

·         Public Lecture - "Observing the Transits of Venus: Why and How Astronomers Risked Their Lives", Prof Gretchen Harris, Physics & Astronomy Dept, 
MC 2066, 5:00-5:45pm (Seating is limited, please register)

·         Free transit viewing glasses, while supplies last

·         Watch the transit through solar telescopes and live video

·         Ask an astronomer!

This event is weather dependent. Please register and check the event website for updates.
