That needs to be covered 100% by HOA. It is known that the overflows have been the root cause of a lot of leaks and the HOA has been covering those.

If there are past plumbing bills paid by units because of overflow issues...I think they should be reimbursed (like Kim).

I don’t understand what exactly the overflows are...are they part of tub hardware?

The silver plug between the drain and the nozzle is the overflow. When you fill your bathtub too high, the water gets directed into the drain via the overflow pipe so it doesn't rise above the level of your bathtub.

The pipe that connects to that hole was not secure - meaning there was a gap. So when water "overflowed" and needed to go down the drain, it was actually going down into the gap and directly into the ceiling of the unit below.

I checked with Best Plumbing today.   There are two overflows.  One inside the wall and one attached to the tub. I thought the same as Christina until 307 ask me if his overflow leak was in the wall or on the tub. That's when I asked the plumber.
