Thanks for letting me know.  I’m going to do two things.  I will reach out to the owners of 411 and 211 to see if they are experiencing this also and I will look up the last time the chimney was serviced.

Hey there, I noticed that there is water slowly dripping into my fireplace. I have it collecting in a small container. Something similar happened last year when I was out of town and they fixed the roof or gutter in some way as a solution. Has 411 or 211 noticed the same issue?

Hey all,

Jenn and I were talking about other items I had on a checklist. During that call, we talked about this. She is going to reach out to Myron to find out when is the last time the chimneys were cleaned and by what company. My gut says before we can address whatever issue Dan is experiencing, we need to have them cleaned first. Hopefully the cleaning will solve his problem or make it easier to pinpoint what is the issue (a hole?).

I have an issue with my chimney also in that the smoke doesn't always blow upwards and fills my apartment when I use it. Hopefully a good cleaning will solve all our chimney problems.

Good afternoon,

I heard back from 211 and 411.  Neither of them have seen any water in their fireplace.  Which is good news. 

 

However, I spoke with Myron and he confirmed that the the last time the chimneys had any kind of service was in 2017 when phase two of the chimney cap replacement project took place. 

I would suggest having the chimneys inspected and cleaned.  Myron recommended a company called MK & Sons Masonry.  If you can confirm the number of chimneys and total stacks that need to be inspected, I will get a quote from them.  I don’t believe we need to do a bid process, as Myron literally just completed this, and that is how MK & Sons was selected.
