Good morning Board,

Please see the email below.  Two questions for you:

  1. Can you confirm her report that the repair in her bathroom will be paid by the association?
  2. Would you like me to call a company to do the repairs?

Thank you,

Jenn ZiBerna,

I live in Unit 201 of the Waterford North Condominium building.  I am the sole owner of my unit.

Last year there was a water leak coming from the unit above mine.  The problem was a bathtub drain.  The problem was not   visible in the unit above mine, but when water started dripping down into my bathroom, I called CWD Group and reported the problem.  Our building manager at the time was Myron Monson.  He sent a plumber over to check out the problem and fix it.  In order to fix it, the plumbers had to cut a hole in the ceiling above the bathtub in the master bathroom.  It took two plumbers several visits to get the problem fixed.  I never had the hole in the ceiling above the bathtub fixed.  You are probably wondering why I didn't have it fixed sooner.  By the time they fixed the problem, it was getting close to the Christmas retail season and I was extremely busy at my job.  It was hard for me to get time off.   By the time the holiday retail season was over, Covid 19 was a problem and I didn't think a repair person would be able to come over since it wasn't an emergency repair.  My condominium has two full bathrooms, so I just used the other bathroom.

I recently retired and now have more time to stay home.  I would like to get the hole in my ceiling fixed.  Myron can probably verify that the water leak was not my fault, and was not in my unit, so it is my understanding that the association or the owners of the unit above mine would be covering the cost of the repairs.

I would like to schedule the repair, now that I have more time to stay home.  I saved the piece of the ceiling that they had to cut out to do the repair.  I can measure it if the repair person wants to know what size they will be working on.  I think maybe the repair person doesn't need to be a plumber.  I think maybe it just needs to be someone who could do a drywall type repair.  The actual plumbing problems have been fixed.

Thank you for giving this your attention. The service associate at CWD Group told me to email you at this address.  I noticed the last email I got regarding some Waterford North issues had a different email address, but I am using the one the associate told me to use.
