After 4-6 weeks of regular rowing, these levels can be increased by
one litre, after which you should focus on increasing your speed/
intensity.
The water level is the equivalent to the mass of boat and crew, a high
water level means a heavier boat or crew. A heavy mass means the boat
sits deeper in the water therefore there is more drag against the hull
of the boat. When a crew row down a river they work to overcome the
effect of this drag, the faster the boat is propelled, the greater the
drag and the harder the crew must work.
