Please remember everyone is different-in body shape, body type, limb
lengths, technique skills and strengths and weaknesses. There will be
and are variations on basic good rowing technique such as in stroke
length and compression at the Catch.

Below are a number of points which are essential for good rowing
technique:

1) Good posture - this is something which you need to remind yourself
consistently when rowing, always think 'sit tall yet relaxed'.
2) Long Rowing Stroke - the length of your rowing stroke will vary
with different body shapes and limb length. Aim to reach with the
upper body and arms and compress the legs as far as comfortable to
your ability. Often over time with consistent rowing your stroke
length will become longer as your flexibility and technique
improves.
3) Smooth Rhythmical Continuous Rowing Action - there is no beginning
or end in the rowing action (similar to a bicycle chain) it is one
smooth continuous motion.

If you have any questions on the rowing technique please do not
hesitate to contact me at ji...@watercoach.com .
