Below is a list of factors that can increase your risk of an injury
when rowing as well as tips to help prevent injuries occurring:

· Poor Technique - Take the time to learn the correct rowing
technique, refer to this link http://www.watercoach.com/home/technique_module/about_technique.htm
for animations, drills, focus points, faults and correction etc.
· Lack of Fitness - Ensure you maintain a good level of fitness
(including endurance, strength, flexibility etc.) and respect your
limitations, injuries often occur when one is fatigued.
· Rowing too much too soon - Slowly build up your time spent rowing -
rowing too hard too long too soon can result in injuries.
· Prior Injuries - ensure you warm up properly and stretch after every
session. Be in tuned to your body and its past injuries, if there is
any sign of reoccurrence then take a little time out or slow down with
your routine. Allow the option to incorporate previous rehabilitation
exercises from previous injuries into your rowing routine.
