Grrr...

There's an ad that keeps showing up here that really irritates me for
fullterm.net. They offer this "helpful survey" to help pregnant women
determine whether or not they might be at risk for preterm labor:
http://www.adeza.com/html/fullterm_discuss.htm

No questions relate to prevention at all. No questions about diet or
water intake. :P

Does anyone have any research links available showing the connection
between dehydration and premature birth? Or inadequate nutrition?
Especially studies regarding the tendency to undereat for fashion
reasons leading to prematurity?

I'd love to bookmark them. Thanks!

Be Blessed,
Kya

You should have seen the booth that Adeza had at both AWHONN (obstetric
nurses) convention and the ACOG (obstretricians) convention. At ACOG
they were giving away the book, Pregnancy for Dummies. I went over and
looked at the book and asked for a copy, but then decided that I didn't
want it. It didn't mention much about nutrition nor did it even say a
single word about using water for labor, let alone birth.
They could keep it.

I did, however, get a photo of an obstetrician holding up the book in
front of his chest smiling. Maybe they do need to read it!!

HI Kya!!!!

why dont you try the cochrane database?

we all know the correlation between dehydration and the occurence of more frequent uterine contractions, but I dont know whether this is linked to PTL... it takes more than contractions to lead to dilatation

UTI are definitely linked to  PTL as well as other infections such as bacteral vaginosis...
