Greetings WaterAid,

I hope that everyone had a nice and enjoyable weekend. Here is a rundown of upcoming dates and information.

2nd Meeting- 2/19 5:15pm
  • Our next meeting is February 19th which is this coming Tuesday at 5:15pm in room 313 in Evans Liberal Art building

  • Our Guest Speaker will be the director the the San Marcos River Foundation - Dianne Wassenich!

  • Membership Dues are $5 - Please have those paid by March 4th (our 3rd meeting)

Hyacinth Removal - 2/23
  • This is an invasive species removal that the San Marcos River Foundation does every 4th Saturday 
  • It is a fun way to get involved and make a difference
  • There will be more information on it at the meeting

Geography Job Strategy- 2/25 at 5pm
  • 5 - 6:30pm on February 25th in room 116 in Evans Liberal Art building
  • (description on line) Wondering what you’ll do with your geography degree once you graduate from Texas State? Get critical information about the geography field and the importance of networking from Career Advisor Kim Nelson and Employer Relations Coordinator (and geography alum) Casey Menn

River Clean Up - March 2nd

There is a river clean up every semester put on by the city -- More information to come

Hays Country Crop Walk (Hays Country Food Bank)- March 3rd

  • WaterAid might host the water station at this great event!
  • More information to come
Help fight hunger on both local and global levels by participating in the CROP Hunger Walk!

CROP stands for “Community Response to Overcome Poverty” and helps to provide food, water, disaster relief and other resources that empower people at home and around the world. 25% of the funds it raises goes to hunger-fighting programs in its own community…the Hays County Food Bank! Registration begins at 2pm and walk starts at 2:30pm
