Hi, i have a problem with mediaserver process, always at 100%.
Watchdog lite can't kill it. Can it be killed with the paid version?
Ca it be autokilled?

Thank you.

Charlie.

mediaService is a linux process running on the phone. Neither Watchdog
version lets you kill it now. I'd have to add a feature to let you
kill the process, which would require root access to the phone(and
then I'm not sure if it would restart itself or not).

I think your best option for mediaserver now would be to reboot the phone.

Hello Robert.

Thank you very much for your fast answer.

Right now i use the terminal emulator to do "su" and then "kill
mediaserver" when watchdog task manager lite detect the process
misbehaving. As you said, this process restart after the
killing, sometimes it restart ok without using too much cpu, and
sometimes it restart always eating the cpu, so i have to reboot the
phone. The phone is rooted.

Watchdog is the unique app that show that linux process, so
congratulation for this very good app.

Kind regards.
Charlie.

Yes, Robert, I'm wondering also why am I receiving both sides of your communications with Charlie. If you've arranged for it to be broadcast for the benefit of everyone on the Google Group list, it would be reassuring to have that made clear.

Good to know it respawns. I might add a root kill option for those w/
root. At least for that process.

I'm working on a version that will alert on wakelocks. It'll be a pain
to report on, but I'll figure something out(bg app holding lock for X
consecutive polling periods). Crowdsource the lock name -> app or
something.. Will help if you leave maps open. Will try to do the same
for GPS.
