Subject: [SouthStNeighbors] [POLITICAL]: Sign petition to demand our Springfield neighbor's release from ICE
To: South Street Neighbors <
southStN...@googlegroups.com>
Good morning neighbors,
I'm so sorry to have this news to share (if you are not aware already). And I'm so glad to share some action we can take together in response.
Below is an URGENT UPDATE from
LUCE, the Immigration justice Network of MA:
Juan David, his wife Mirian (a survivor of inhumane ICE detention) and their 7 year old daughter are Springfield residents.
Yesterday (Dec. 9), Juan David arrived on time for his scheduled monitoring visit at the ICE facility in Burlington, MA. Even with over 100 community members standing in peaceful solidarity, ICE agents aggressively took him into custody despite his full compliance and his pending T-visa as a trafficking survivor.
We urgently need our elected officials to step in - press DHS/ICE for his immediate release, issue public statements supporting him, and affirm that dignity and safety must be guaranteed for every person.
👉 Please sign and share the petition to demand his release.
And please call these Congresspeople to urge their immediate action to free Juan David:
And please spread the word.
Thank you for the hope made of our joining together to demand a stop to this.
Warmly,
Pamela
