There are times in a person's life when everything seems to fall their way. The last three weeks have been like that for me, nothing but good times and smooth sailing.
It all started with my mom leaving town for a couple days to watch my Aunt Erika coach at the state tournament. Many people asked my mom how things were going at home while she was away...these people clearly don't know my dad. My dad is pretty amazing, we don't sit around the house when my mom is gone and wait for opportunity to come to us, we go out and seize the day. So, on Saturday we went to Home Depot and my dad bought Marlee and I each our own hose and sprayer. We may not have a pool, but who needs one when you have this...
Let's just say, it was a great weekend for everyone!
Fast forward seven days and my dad is telling me he wants to have a camp out. It was amazing, we set up the tent, laid out our sleeping bags, and I even got to stay up late watching Horseland and eating popcorn. I slept great, but Dad said the crickets and wild donkeys kept him up all night.
Popcorn and Horseland before hitting the hay!
Camping partners!
Later that week my dad took an afternoon off and we went to our annual Spring Training game. Now, my parents have not been able to actually watch one play of baseball at any of these games, but we sure have fun running around in the grass and eating hamburgers! I made friends with the people on the blanket behind us and just had a nice little day!
My mom says wherever we go we end up becoming friends with police officers, let's hope I can stay on the right side of the law. In this case, we get the added bonus of being friends with a K9 handler, who let me come and meet his new dog Espy!
Nick is a really nice guy and Espy can do some pretty amazing things!
Who knows, maybe some day I might be driving one of these rigs.
That brings me to last weekend and my first horse show. I was a little nervous, since I didn't know what to expect, but it was amazing. There were so many horses there, all different kinds and sizes. I ended up winning my division! I was the only one my age who rode without a lead line, did the barrel and pole patterns with minimal assistance, and trotted my horse home. My coach was by me every step of the way, but I really loved being independent. It was truly a great day.
Ready to ride!
This is my coach, Anysa, and my horse, Rare.
Barrel patterns!
Trotting Rare home!
This is my friend Noah, he also rides for Jordan Stables.
I'm getting mentally prepared, Rare, is apparently taking a nap.
This pretty much sums up the day!
Wait, that was just Saturday, on Sunday we went to the carnival and I got to ride the rides (my favorites were the race cars and fun slide) all by myself!
I'm a fast driver, in case you were wondering.
This week, I have been on Spring Break, soaking up the sun and hanging out with my mom and Marlee. Monday, I mastered Rising Tiger, a Kung-Fu stance that I have been working on for a while. My teacher was so happy....no really, I think I made his week. It was pretty cool, I even got my blocks correct. So, you see, it's been one heck of a month for me!
And to say goodbye, a cute picture of Marlee in her house dress! Have a great weekend :)
