Hello! Good news since my last post on three fronts...

1) The ultrasound of my kidneys found that the left is growing at a normal rate and functioning well. The right, as we expected, is still very small and only functioning at 8%. Although my creatinine level was high, everything seems to be on track. Blood work again in six months :)

2) I went to see my ophthalmologist, Dr. Cassidy, and actually got good news. My mom walks into that place expecting bad news at this point, so any glimmer of hope is appreciated. We knew my glasses had significantly improved the alignment of my eye, but found they are also helping my brain recognize my left eye exists. I got my daily patching time cut by over half, only one and half hours in the morning now. I also ROCKED my vision exams. I completed them all in under five minutes with no guess work. Big improvement :)

3) I started school in early August (another year of preschool at a new venue called Creative Castle). I have ten kids in my class and the center director has described our group as the "dream team." We all get along and work well together. My teacher, Mrs. Laura, is simply amazing..confirmed by both my Dad and Mom.

Our first day of school tradition is to make butterhorns (a sweet roll my Mom used to make with her Grandma). Marlee was excited to help with the frosting!

...and I was excited to eat them!

We also made a self portrait to hang on the wall at my new school. Cool glasses, right?

Obligatory first day of school pictures...

Along with some information about my favorite things right now.

No tears from me, but Mom said Marlee cried the whole way home.
I think she misses me while I'm at school.

Costco costumes are in, that means we stocked up to have some dress up clothes that fit!

One of my biggest accomplishments this summer has been making good progress on swimming.
I can now swim independently with confidence and got upgraded to the deep end the past few weeks!

We had a big camping trip planned, but Marlee wasn't feeling quite herself, so we stayed home and camped. Jumping on air mattresses provides hours of entertainment.

I would contest; however, that making s'mores before bed was my favorite part!

Grandma Jane came to visit this month, we had a blast playing super heroes and horses. Marlee calls her "dabaa," which everyone thought was really cute. I call her "Grandma Cat," the
Grandma version of Catwoman.

Until next time, have a great week :)
