For the W08 i think the best is

(little different from picture)
(the tip cannot be hidden in the band)

Speed Dial:

Setup numbers in Settings>Phone Setup>Speed Dial
then keep a number pressed until it calls its speed dial equivalent.

Silent mode:

keep # pressed on the GUI dialpad
until it displays Silent Mode
