I Lost My Body (French: J'ai perdu mon corps) is a 2019 French animated film directed by Jérémy Clapin [fr]. It premiered in the International Critics' Week section at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival,[4] where it won the Nespresso Grand Prize, becoming the first animated film to do as such in the section's history.[5] The film was nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 92nd Academy Awards.

The film begins with a cut off hand escaping from a refrigerator in a lab and beginning an excursion across suburbia of Paris to re-unite with its body, a youngster named Naoufel. His story is told via flashbacks. 

As a kid in Morocco, Naoufel aspires to be a pianist and a space explorer and records his everyday life on a recording device. During a vehicle venture, he distracts his dad while he is driving, causing an accident. He survives, yet both of his folks are killed. He is compelled to live in France with his emotionally distant uncle and his unrefined cousin. As a youthful grown-up, Naoufel fills in as a pizza deliveryman, frequently criticized by his supervisor for being late. On one occasion, Naoufel delivers a pizza to a young lady, Gabrielle, at her condo block. They never see one another, as Naoufel can't traverse the entryway's malfunctioning security entryway, however have a conversation through the intercom, and Naoufel gets infatuated with her.

Returning home one day, he finds his cousin talking to Gabrielle, and finds that he hosts invited them both to a gathering. That evening, Naoufel takes Gabrielle to the housetops, where they discuss destiny and Naoufel contemplates whether it can be changed by doing something surprising, for example, leaping from the rooftop onto a close by crane. Naoufel shows Gabrielle the igloo he built and uncovers that they had met before when he delivered pizza. Gabrielle is disturbed, fearing that Naoufel enjoyed taken benefit of Gigi exclusively in request to seek after her. Gabrielle leaves in a fury. Hurt, Naoufel goes to his cousin's gathering alone and gets into a tipsy fight. The following morning, Naoufel goes to work hungover, sporting a bruised eye. The hand ultimately arrives at Naoufel and lies on his bed while he rests, yet it can't re-join itself and in the end hides under the bed. Naoufel, discouraged and sad, revisits his old recording device, which still has recordings of his folks – including the lethal vehicle ride. Gigi endeavors to converse with him, however Naoufel doesn't react. Gabrielle comes to see him and finds his room vacant. Inside the cabinet, she finds an igloo that his cut off hand had built out of sugar 3D shapes. Subsequent to searching the unfilled igloo on the rooftop, Gabrielle finds Naoufel's old, deserted recording device and discovers another recording on it. Listening, she learns he had jumped off the edge and onto the crane as he had once discussed. 

Subsequent to making the leap, Naoufel lies in the crane and smiles to himself as he watches out at the city. His cut off hand withdraws into the snow.
