Thank you for your continued engagement as we share Reduce, Reuse, Reimagine grant program updates! It has been encouraging to see so many folks asking questions and registering on the online application.    In this newsletter, we are sharing links to sign up for upcoming information sessions and office hours, example waste prevention projects and eligible and ineligible project costs.  Information Sessions and Office Hours  Information Sessions:  Information sessions will begin with a brief presentation where we will share program updates. Advance registration is required. There will be time for questions after the presentation. All sessions will take place over Zoom and will be recorded. The recordings will be posted to the DEQ website within a week. If you do not have stable internet access or would like to request extra assistance or translation services, please contact RRRG...@deq.oregon.gov at least 5 days in advance for accommodations. Monday afternoon May 13 – 3 p.m.-4 p.m. | Registration Link  Wednesday evening May 22 – 6 p.m.-7 p.m. | Registration Link  Saturday morning June 1 – 9 a.m.-10 a.m. | Registration link  Office Hours:  DEQ will host drop-in office hours the week prior to the pre-application due date of June 18. Registration is required, but you may enter and leave the meeting as you would like. There will not be a formal presentation. This is an opportunity for interested applicants to drop-in and ask questions related to the application process or their project proposal. To see a list of project examples, review our list of example projects. This project list is not exhaustive. We welcome new, creative ideas about waste prevention that meet the needs of your community.  Eligible and ineligible costs  Below are examples of eligible activities that may be supported through a DEQ Reduce, Reuse, Reimagine grant, as well as ineligible activities that cannot be supported through a DEQ Reduce, Reuse, Reimagine grant. For more information on eligible and ineligible costs, please visit our website.   Eligible Activities:   Education and outreach  Training  Research  Program, project or policy development  Workforce development  Eligible Costs:   Administrative costs, such as travel, office expenses, and overhead  Salaries and benefits for project personnel and payments to consultants or contractors  Publications and other printed materials  Machinery, vehicles, equipment, signs, containers and project-related supplies  Ineligible Costs:  Costs for which payment has been or will be received under another financial assistance program Costs associated with solid waste or materials management planning that are outside the scope the proposed project  Costs incurred before DEQ issues a grant agreement (anticipated January 2025) Costs incurred after the expiration date of the grant agreement (anticipated January 2027)  License applications or permit fees Ordinary operating expenses of the grant applicant that are not directly related to the project Costs incurred for permitted facility closures Payment of fines, penalties, arrears, judgments or other such obligations Costs associated with preparing a grant proposal, proposal, stock or debt offering, formation of partnerships, incorporations, fundraising or other forms of such business costs Any activity or program that supports mechanical, chemical or other forms of recycling of paper, packaging, food serviceware or other products Reminder: Register for WebGrants  WebGrants is the web-based application platform we will be using for this grant cycle.
