Hello Waste Prevention Action Team Members:

We hope you will be joining us this coming Thursday at 5:00 pm at the 2026 Sustainability Coalition Sustainability Fair & Town Hall. It is free and right on OSU's campus at the Alumni Center across from Reser Stadium. Our Action Team will have a booth located diagonally across  as you enter the main entrance to the Alumni Center. We'd love to connect with you as we continue our mission to engage more of our community in preventing waste. Below are details about our special guest speaker. Get more details about the event by clicking the link above.

Town Hall Speaker Is Andrew Millison
“Global Resilience Efforts: Lessons for Corvallis"

The keynote presentation by Andrew Millison will be a highlight of this year’s Sustainability Town Hall on Thursday, March 12, from 7 to 9 pm at the CH2MHill Alumni Center, 725 SW 26th Street, on the OSU campus. This event is open to the public, but seating is limited so make sure to register HERE if you haven’t already done so.

Andrew Millison has travelled the Earth, documenting impactful stories of land regeneration on his popular YouTube channel, which has over 100 million video views.

One of Millison’s more recent video projects was highlighted last fall by OSU, where he is a Senior Instructor in the Department of Horticulture. An article titled “Teaching from the Frontlines: The Global Impact of Viral Storytelling” focused on Millison’s compelling video of the Sahel project, in which he relates how communities in the arid borderlands of the Sahara Desert are transforming seeming wastelands into food-producing landscapes. A clip of the video, which has been viewed more than 15 million times on YouTube, can be seen HERE.

In addition to being a highly successful storyteller, Millison is an internationally renowned permaculturist and founder of OSU’s Permaculture Design Program. You can learn more about him and his work at https://AndrewMillison.com.

The Corvallis Sustainability Coalition is proud to feature Andrew Millison as this year’s Town Hall keynote speaker. The title of his presentation is “Global Resilience Efforts: Lessons for Corvallis”. Don’t miss it!

Our home in Philomath, Oregon is located within the traditional homelands of the Mary's River or Ampinefu Band of Kalapuya.  Following the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855 (Kalapuya etc. Treaty), Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to reservations in Western Oregon. Today, living descendants of these people are a part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon and the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians.
