WASO 2023/24

Dear Parents and WASO members,

 

I hope you have all been enjoying the summer break. With the beginning of term fast approaching here is some important information and dates to add to your diaries regarding our rehearsals and concerts during the net academic year.

First rehearsal of the year for all WASO ensembles will be on Wednesday 13th September - EXCEPT WYO Violins & Cellos

 

♬

WYO Violins and cellos will need to audition for seating (one prepared extract of music to be provided in advance and a scale of the appropriate level) on the Wednesday 6th September. Please see other email regarding this information and a sign-up link.

Introductory Wind Band - Due to the growing size of our ensemble and rehearsal space available the Introductory band will now rehearsal at an earlier time of 4:30 - 5:15 on Wednesdays in the concert hall. Please see attached map.

Residential - There will be a residential to Avon Tyrrell for members of the Wind band, Concert band, WAYSE and WASTO. This will take place on the 12th - 14th January 2024 information for this will be sent out in the next weeks.

WASO Schedule - The WASO schedule is attached to this email.

Tuck shop - Derek has kindly agreed to bring back the tuck shop, he will be down by the concert hall where you will be able to buy bite size confectionery or similar bags of sweets. These will be priced at 20p so please do bring the correct change if you wish to have a snack.
