About the Space Elevator Youth Robotics Competition
The Space Elevator Robotics Competition is a challenge for middle and high school students to design, build and program an autonomous, tether-climbing robot. The robot must defy gravity and climb a 22’ tether to the top while carrying a payload. Prizes will be awarded for top-scoring robots and for robot design. It’s a great summer project that’s both challenging and fun. STEM!
The competition will take place on Saturday, August 23 at the Museum of Flight in Seattle and is free to registered teams. Admission to the Museum of Flight for the day is also free. www.isec.org/sec/index.php/family-science-fest
The rules for the 2014 Space Elevator Competition, including the dates and how to register, can be found at: http://www.isec.org/sec/images/docs/2014%20space%20elevator%20rules.pdf
Please RSVP for the workshop to Carolyn at cmda...@seanet.com so that we have enough tables and chairs set up and also enough snacks on hand. I hope to see you there!
