Registration is now open for RoboClimb 2016, the sixth annual ISEC Space Elevator Youth Robotics Competition. This exciting competition will take place on Saturday, August 20, from 9 am - 3 pm at the Museum of Flight in Seattle.

If you are looking for a fun summer project to engage students, this is it! Students are challenged to design, build and program autonomous climbing robots that simulate carrying satellites into orbit.

This year, the competition will focus on the autonomous loading of satellites portion of the space elevator competition. The rules have changed so be sure to ready them carefully. There are two robot classes to choose from: “LEGO Only” and “(Almost) Anything Goes.”

This project will encourage creativity and engage kids in learning basic physics concepts, mechanical and electrical engineering principles, computer programming and more.  STEM!
The competition is FREE to registered teams and admission to the Museum of Flight is also FREE to registered teams.

Prizes will be awarded to the top-performing teams and for innovative robot design. Space is limited, so grab your friends, form a team and enter today.
Added Bonus – A Special Exhibition to Explore –  "Above and Beyond"
And since the competition ends earlier this year, you will have a chance to check out the special exhibition, "Above and Beyond – The Ultimate Interactive Flight Exhibition." This highly-interactive exhibition explores the wonders of flight and the marvels of aerospace innovation, design and technology and it produced by Evergreen Exhibitions in association with Boeing and in collaboration with NASA and the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum.

PLEASE SHARE this news widely with your robotics clubs, youth groups, your friends and anyone else who might be interested in this challenge. Space is limited, so be sure to register as soon as possible.
