Hello,
I'm new to this group. Thanks for all the great posts and videos as they helped me tremendously. I have a Maytag MHWE450WW01 font load washing machine. I replaced the bearing and seal on the washing machine two separate times due to extreme noise. The first time the repair lasted amount a week before making noise again. The second time the repair lasted 3 months before making noise again. I purchased the bearings and seal from Amazon since they were so cheap. I'm thinking that may be part of my problem. You get what you pay for. I also believe that I may have another issue that is causing the seal to fail especially after reading the other posts and looking at pictures. I suspect my drum shaft is worn and needs to be repaired or replaced. I doesn't look like the spider is cracked. I don't see any other obvious problems. I don't recall exactly where the water was leaking past the seal. See attached pictures.
At this point I point, I put a lot of time into repairing the machine and I'm on the verge of purchasing a new washing machine. I told myself that I wouldn't repair the washing machine a third time because something is causing the seal fail. However, I read enough posts to know that I can experience the same failure with a new washing machine so don't want to give up. A new drum and bearing set is going to set me back $400+ and I don't know if that is my problem or maybe there are multiple problems. I'm back and forth on what to do. Can you look at the pictures and let me know if you think the drum shaft is my problem? I would also appreciate if you can comment on the quality of your parts versus some of the cheap bearing sets online. If I do move ahead with the repair I plan to spend a little more money to purchase your parts especially since you have had success with the repair and I haven't. Is there is anything else I should look at as a cause for failure? The washing machine is still being used and making noise so I can't take new pictures right now. The attached pictures are from after the first repair. I really would appreciate any guidance or thoughts you can provide.
Thanks,
Jimmy
