Hi everyone,
I'm from Ontario, Canada, and I'm looking for some advice.
I have a 6-year-old Electrolux front-load washer (model EFLW317TIW2) that's developed an issue. It seems the original bearing seal gasket has started to leak, which caused the bearings to rust. Now, instead of a quiet washing machine, I’ve got something that sounds more like an airplane in my laundry room.
I ordered a new bearing and seal kit from Amazon, but the seal gasket in that kit is 80x40x10 mm. Unfortunately, the 40 mm inner diameter is too small for the shaft on my drum (47 mm)— it doesn't fit properly and won't allow the drum to rotate freely.
After lots of searching, I haven’t been able to find a properly sized replacement gasket. The only option I’ve found so far is to buy a rear drum cover assembly, which costs around $600 CAD, or to replace the machine altogether. Both options are pretty expensive just to fix a gasket issue.
Does anyone know where I can find the correct seal gasket for this model? Or alternatively, is there another way to properly seal new bearings without the original gasket?
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
