Kenmore/Samsung clothes washer Model Number 592-49474. Made in 2014.

This washer started to spew white smoke from the drum area. I took it apart and no visible signs of anything rubbing that would cause the smoke. The spider arm has some rust spots. The bearings feel tight, unless they get sloppy under load.

The electrical boards all work, drain pumps tested okay.

I have no problem replacing the bearings, seal and spider arm assembly. The question is

what’ was causing the white smoke?

Any suggestion would be welcome.
