Hi, my washer is a maytag 4000 series front load washer...model # mhwe450ww01.
Can I replace the tub bearing by itself or do I need to replace the tub also? The maytag guy come by today and said its the bearing and it also will need motherboard he said cause power button keeps not working..
He said $1126 to fix it...
That's way more then I want to spend, since I paid $999 for it and $160 for service plan that has been up for 2 years..
Thank u in advance for any help!
Much appreciated!

Jason,
This is a pretty typical situation with these and the reason why this group exists.  The bearings CAN be replaced and I have made videos showing how to do it.  Start here:   http://www.yellowvanhandyman.com/washerrepair.aspx

You can get the repair kit with free shipping for your machine (8154) there.

You can also view videos on how to make the repair on my youtube channel here:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?list=PLdckLadsWofAmeTAEFKhsE36l2Siinsru&v=DKEArOmx3kQ

For the mother board, if it is just the power switch then it likely just needs to be resoldered.  If you do not know how to do it then send it to me while you are making the bearing repair and I will do it for you and send it back.  The motherboard is working fine if it works but if the switch is working sometimes and not others then it is most likely just a loose or broken connection.
