So, I've let my washer go through its phases of failing bearings. I'm hoping not too much damage has occurred. We had the jet engine sound, followed by the squealing, and then a slight thudding. I noticed it started leaking out the rear bearings. The unit started giving motor errors, which I suspect is due to the added friction and now the motor can only turn it slightly. (Motor is supposed to have 10 year warranty). The machine is only 4 years old.
I want to take it apart and evaluate what needs to be replaced before I order parts or scrap it. I'm confident I need new bearings and at this point, I suspect I've waited long enough that the shaft of the spider is damaged. There is a lot of play in the spin basket and spinner (spider) support shaft.
I've removed the bolt holding the rotor on, but I cannot remove the rotor from the splined shaft. I have tried to pull straight out and it won't release. It looks like it might be corroded a little. I noticed 3 holes around the shaft that I was hoping I could put bolts in to pull of the rotor, but they are not threaded. I'm also not sure what's behind them. I don't want to crack the plastic tube or break the stator.
Any ideas or suggestions? The picture attached is the center of the rotor. It loos oily because I sprayed it with Kroil.
