Not sure if the inner bearing is bad

I began disassembling my Duet front-load washer this morning and after inspecting the outer bearing... visible once the shaft nut and pulley was removed... it looked fine. Decided to abort the complete procedure and ask someone if the inner bearing could be the culprit? The drum spins fine without the belt and pulley installed so now I'm second-guessing myself. Put it back together and waiting to see if anyone comments about a similar experience. Thanks!
