Vail "KIng of the Mountain Open" Update!

The 42nd Annual Vail King of the Mountain Open is just around the corner -- June 13-15, 2014.  USA Nationals are over and it's time to turn our thoughts to "outdoor volleyball".

The "King of the Mountain Open" is the largest purely beach doubles volleyball tournament in the Rocky Mountains; and, one of Vail's oldest, longest-running Events.  Men's and Women's Open divisions are closed; but, there are 23 other divisions to play in; including:  Men's Masters and Seniors; Women's Masters; Men's and Women's A, BB, & B divisions; Co-Ed A, BB, & B; Junior Girls 12's, 14's, 16's and 18's; and special Father's Day divisions -- Father/Son & Father/Daughter (12's 14's, 16's, & 18's -- by the age of the junior).

There are some great lodging prices by the Properties that are working directly with the Touirnament.  Check out the web site under the link "stay":  www.KingoftheMountainVolleyball.com

The FREE Junior Beach Volleyball Clinic will be held on Friday, June 13th, 10:30 am - 2:30 pm (check-in at 10 am) at the Eagle-Vail Community Fields -- these fields will be  used for the junior clinic, the juniors competition on Saturday, and for the Father's Day divisions on Sunday.  We apologize for any inconvenience.  The Town of Vail is re-doing Ford Park this summer and we need to move these competitions to Eagle-Vail for one year.  However, the Eagle-Vail Community Fields are so "lush" that you may not want to go back to Ford Park --- even though Ford Park is predicted to be quite the playing field for us starting next year; larger and pretty "plush".

That's it for the King of the Mountain update.  Get your entries in and we'll see you at one of Colorado's iconic outdoor volleyball Events real soon.

BEACH NOTES FYI:

For those of you who live on the Front Range of Colorado, don't forget to tune-up for the King of the Mountain at the Annual Island Beach Bash grass tournament next weekend.

If you haven't experienced a true "Volleyball Festival" experience in awhile, then you should, definitely find a way to attend the FIVB Grand Slam Event in Long Beach, CA the week of July 22-27.  Not only will you get to see the best beach players in the world battle it out for the first, ever, $1,000,000 prize money payout in beach volleyball competition; but, you can either watch, or enter a team, in the WSOVB, a 6-man and 4-man volleyfest going on right outside the Main Championship Court over the weekend:

This is a great Event and was a real "treat" to attend last year.
