Subject: Openings for 15-20 PhD Students at Brown University

The Department of Computer Science at Brown University is pleased to
invite applicants for fall 2012.  The positions range across all
branches of computer science, matching faculty interests.  Our ties to
other university departments also provide strong opportunities for
students to conduct interdisciplinary research.

The positions include full tuition support, health insurance, and a
generous stipend.  Students receive on average USD 21,000 during the
9-month academic year, with many opportunities to supplement this at a
higher rate in the summer.  Students in good academic standing are
guaranteed five years of full academic support.

Brown is located in Providence, Rhode Island, in northeastern USA, an
hour south of Boston and three hours north of New York.  Providence
and New England offer numerous cultural, historical, and culinary
attractions, beaches and coastline, bicycling, skiing, and much more.
The city is compact and easily navigable without a car.  Providence
also has excellent train service to both Boston and New York.

For more information, go to http://www.cs.brown.edu/grad/phd/.  Our
application deadline is December 15th (*).

For Japanese students and international students in Japan:
Current Brown CS PhD students from Japan, Hideaki Kimura
(hkimura [AT] cs.brown.edu) and Marcelo Martins (martins [AT] cs.brown.edu),
will be glad to answer any questions you may have on the life, research and
career opportunity in the program. Please feel free to contact them.

(*) GRE/TOEFL score can arrive a little later than the application
deadline without having a negative impact until the first week of January.
