34th
Annual Championship Big Wheel Race will be held on Friday, August
1st. Registration is at 5:45pm and the race begins at
7pm. (Sponsors: Warsaw Breakfast Optimist, Penguin Point &
Warsaw Parks & Recreation). Please see David Meier for more
information.
The
2014-2015 Optimist Directory will underway soon. New pictures will
be taken Aug. 6th-Sept 3rd. Ads are due by
September 10th. Update Member Information deadline is
Sept. 17th. Committee & Project info due by Sept.
17th. Please see Dr. Jason Rich and Jim Hayes for more
information.
Our
Optimist Singers will start up again on August 13th.
Our
guest, Leeland Lemaster discussed the upcoming Indiana North
District Convention will be held in Warsaw, Friday & Saturday,
August 8th
& 9th.
He was inspired by our attendance this morning and encourage
everyone to sign up for the this meeting.
Spotlight:
Jane
Wear from Cardinal Services received a check from our club in the
amount of $1000 which was presented by President, Everett Nifong.
The money will go towards their Healthy Families Program.

announce that the Water Ski Club made a 4 tier pyramid that was
perfect! He also added that the National Championship will be in
two weeks, make sure you go check it out!

Kawsky the Director from Warsaw Area Career Center (WACC) presented
this morning.
Mission
Statement: Our mission at WACC is to assist students in finding
their passion and developing the skills necessary to suceed, and to
be ahead of the competition.
Ronna
encouraged us all to get involved and to learn more about their
programs. She asked what do we as business leaders need from them?
They offer college credits to high school students to help them
achieve sucess. WACC received the largest grand in Indiana for
$350,000. They are getting ready to launch a new program called
Advanced Manufacturing Academy. To learn more contact Ronna today!
