Mayor and Member Joe Thallemer will be our speaker tomorrow giving us an update on the City of Warsaw.
Remember to be respectful of ALL our speakers and to not leave during their presentations. We do not want to disrupt the speaker or distract members who want to hear the program.
Best practices may include.....
Excusing yourself before the speaker is introduced, so that your exit is not perceived as related to the speaker. Sargent's at Arms are fair game.
Sitting on the opposite side of the room from the podium along the outside edge of the tables. This allows an early exit with the least amount of disruption and you avoid the sight lines of the members who are staying.
Tell your boss that, gosh darn it, what's another 15 minutes? I want to stay for the entire meeting, the speakers are spell binding (this last part really sells it).
These courtesy reminders (2 out of 3) are at the request of our President who would like us to refocus our actions during meeting to the needs of our guests.
