NOAO is hosting a workshop, “Tools for Astronomical Big Data,” to survey the present state of the art in addressing the challenges of conducting research with large astronomical data sets. Topics will include:

1.The visualization of large datasets.
2. A survey of efficient algorithms for processing large datasets.
3.The efficient development of, and interaction with, large databases.
4.The use of “machine learning” methodologies.
