Subject: faculty and postdoc positions at Princeton
Date: August 29, 2014 1:41:30 PM EDT

Dear friends,

The Astrophysics Department at Princeton University

   http://www.princeton.edu/astro

is advertising a junior-level faculty position, as well as a number of
postdoctoral positions.  We would be grateful if you could pass this
notice on to suitable colleagues and encourage them to apply.  Also,
please let us know if there are particularly strong candidates we
should be keeping our eye on.

Advertised jobs include:

-A tenure-track faculty position.  We're looking for a theorist in
cosmology and extragalactic astrophysics, but will consider
applications from all fields of astrophysics.

-The Lyman Spitzer, Jr. Postdoctoral Fellowship, oriented to
theoretical astrophysicists.

-The Carnegie-Princeton Postdoctoral Fellowship, which will involve
carrying out research both at Princeton and Carnegie
Observatories in Pasadena, CA.

-A postdoctoral position to carry out extragalactic research with
       Hyper-Suprime Cam.

-Postdoctoral positions for software development for processing
large surveys (including HSC and LSST)

-A postdoctoral position in theoretical plasma astrophysics.

Detailed information on the positions available, and the application
process, may be found at:

http://www.princeton.edu/astro/resources/job/jo/index.xml

We will start reading the applications on November 15, 2014.  For
questions about the positions or on-line application process, please
send e-mail to post...@astro.princeton.edu.

 Many thanks,

 Eve Ostriker and Michael Strauss

P.S.  Note that the application process for positions at the Institute
for Advanced Study (IAS), the Princeton Center for Theoretical Science
(PCTS), and the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) are
separate from the above.
