Use warp-persist with Portlets?

Hi,

I am developing an ICEFaces portlet that will be deployed in Liferay/
Tomcat that needs database access. I am using JPA (EclipseLink) and
was told that warp-persist may be useful for transaction management
(since I will running in Java SE mode).

Has anybody used warp-persist with portlets? Do you know if it's
possible?
