Thread + Request Mixed Mode

I have a request driven web app that also has a DAEMON thread that
runs at start-up.

Problem is, with using UOW Request, I always get
"org.hibernate.HibernateException: No session currently bound to
execution context" when using @Transactional in my DAEMON thread.

Is there any way to have a mixed mode?
