Beyond Occupy: What's Next?

"Guelph community activists Kevin Sutton and James Gordon are hosting a meeting Friday Nov 18 at 7 p.m. at 10 Carden Street in Guelph called "Beyond Occupy"--- "What's Next"...

The meeting was called after both had been hearing from many different sectors in the community that the "Occupy Movement" world-wide was attracting wide-spread interest in this city. At the same time, it was felt that the group who had been "Occupying" St. George's Square, for a number of reasons, did not represent a complete cross-section of the '99%' referred to in Occupy statements. 

Drawing on the attention that this group brought to the movement, Sutton and Gordon are hoping that these 'occupiers'  will be represented at the meeting as well as community members from a great diversity of our citizenry. "How can we nurture this new catalyst for change in our community?" is a question that will be posed to the group.

The two will begin the evening with an overview of the "Occupy" movement, then offer all in attendance a chance to speak to their concerns and insights. The participants will break into work groups to determine what actions and organization might stem from the meeting. 

Admission is free, though donations will be accepted to help pay for the rental of the room.
