As I write this, I an sitting in Kent, a suburb of Seattle. Why? Because as of Monday I will be a developer for Paizo Publishing.

So that's where I am. Where does that leave Warlords of the Apocalypse?

When Super Genius Games bought me out and I took WotA as part of my severance, some material I had hoped to use for WotA (like a new cover) stopped being available to me. My first priority was to form a new company so I had a legal framework for publishing my own RPG material, and that took some time. Rogue Genius Games is now a reality (though the website is still under construction, it is at least present -- www.roguegeniusgames.com)

WotA was to be my next priority and I had developed a plan to make progress on it... which got derailed by my getting a job as a developer with Paizo.

I am only now in Seattle (after a whirlwind 6-week packing, selling, moving, and organizing period), and my first day in the Paizo offices is this Monday.
I DO have some things brewing on the WotA front, but I want to make sure I have a good grip on the new Paizo job before I try to nail down what is and isn't doable.

WotA is still going to happen. But yet again, circumstances have left me needing to scrap my existing plan of attack and form a new one. I personally feel this development will ultimately result in a better product, but it is going to push things back.

An additional ringer that needs to be considered is the release by Paizo of the Technology Guide, which is obviously going to have implications for a "100% Pathfinder-compatible" Post-Apocalypse RPG. That's not coming out until August, which means some reworking of WotA rules is bound to happen starting in September.

There are things in moption right now (new cover, possibly new writers to take up the slack I am leaving), but none of that is ready to announce. I'll keep everyone posted.

Thanks for the update, Owen. I hate to say this, but it may even be a good thing that WotA has been pushed back so often. The Tech Guide will be a great resource...

But Here's hoping for some major progress in late 2014 and 2015...

Best of luck at Paizo and I'm looking forward to hounding you at Comicpalooza. ;-)

Thanks for the update, I was wondering how your new position with Paizo would impact this project.  I too think the Tech Guide will be a great resource for WotA.

The Technology Guide is a heckuva curveball. It has some implications for one my projects, as well.

Heya Folks!

I continue to work on Warlords of the Apocalypse.
It's still slow going.
The recent Anachronistic Adventures compilation available through Bundle of Holding has the new, revised base classes that have been updated to be more stand-alone, and will serve as the basis for the Warlords classes. A lot of its rule systems (ESP, PL familiarity, "running a low-magic campaign) are also the testbed for WotA systems.
I have more custom art from Erik Lofgren, which will act as chapter openers.
The augmentation rules (including mutation, nanocybernetics, and strange devices) are close to ready for another playtest.
But since I have a full-time office job with Paizo, a half-time developer gig with Green Ronin, and publishing duties with rogue Genius, my spare writing time is not enough for things to happen quickly.
I has *hoped*, for obvious reasons, to have a draft ready when Mad Max Fury Road came out. Equally obviously, I didn't manage that, although the effort is one reason I have made some solid progress.
It is still absolutely my plan to make this book happen. I also still don't have a solid eta on when.

I attached one of the new pieces of Eric Lofgren art, which no one else has ever seen yet.

Yeah i was hoping to be playing it by now, well actually last year. But things happen and no worries, when it is done I will buy it.
