Hey Folks!
So I have had a few email from people who got the pre-order email asking some specific questions. Since I suspect a number of you may have similar questions, I thought I’d compose some universal answers for a few things.
We have not made a general announcement yet, but hope to by the end of the week. There are still internal questions to get clear, and any formal news release needs to be checked by both companies involved before going public. It may have been foolish to send out emails before I had my ducks in a row. But I'd rather admit we don't have all the answers yet that leave people who are now our customers still sitting in a long, mysterious silence about this project.
Word that we have bought this has already leaked out, so if you want to publically discuss this now feel free. I hope to have an official press release out soon, but I didn't want to wait on that to begin an open and honest dialog with folks who have been waiting for this since 2010!
There is not a “Finished Adamant Version” of the game I could send out as a PDF. I know a lot has been said about why the book is late, and I genuinely can’t comment on any of it. Neither I nor SGG had anything to do with WotA until we bought it from Adamant, so I just don’t have the information or the right to discuss what happened before right now. What I have is not a finished game, and needs more writing, development, and playtesting before it goes out with the Super Genius name on it.
That said, I wanted to make sure you all know you ARE our customers now, and we intend to do right by you.
I accept I must earn your group trust. I will do that to the best of my ability. I hope to use this Google Group to build a community, and I sent an email to every pre-order with my personal email address. You have earned the right to use either. Post in the group if you want, or send me direct questions, and I will respond.
I hope to have a clearer picture of our schedule by the end of the year, but I don’t know for certain that'll be the case -- and in any case by "clearer picture" I mean "vague idea" not "hard release date." The holidays have their own pressures, and I did not build my 2012 Q4 schedule with this project in mind. Once I clear the decks of existing commitments, it'll be much more likely I can start to talk details, dates, and milestones.
