It's been about 3 months since the last update.  Not very reassuring.

And if I now wanted to go the refund route (as I preordered from Adamant over 3 years ago), how would one go about it...?

I'm sticking it out. I've already paid my money. If nothing else it will be entertaining to see how long it takes to launch. I am a known glutton for punishment. Heck, I discuss politics on *YouTube*.

I agree.  A friend "bought" me this book as a birthday gift 3 years ago.  Now it's just a running joke to when it ever comes out.  My guess is the rules systems it's based on won't even be relevant when it releases.

I refused Skarka's attempts to give me a refund too many times to take one now.

Though, I do admit I was thinking about sending a similar query about updates myself this past week.

Hey folks,

Yes, I have fallen behind on updates. Sadly I just was not up to the task of maintaining communication while handling the convention season (which *just* ended for me with my guest of honor stint at the Great Falls Gaming Rendezvous this past weekend). I should have done better, and I'll re-prioritize my promised weekly updates.

Second, if anyone decides they DO want a refund, just email me privately with that info, and tell me what email you used for your Adamant pre-order, and I'll get SGG on sending the money out to you.

Third, I hope to have more information on an actual schedule soon. As I mentioned when we first took this over, the LAST thing we want to do is promise you a specific time and then fail to hit that. We always knew this was going to take quite a while. We wouldn't normally have announced a project as far in advance as we mentioned we'd taken this over, but felt strongly that since you all became our customers as soon as the ink on our deal with Adamant was dry you really needed to be TOLD you were now our customers.

This book remains important to me, personally, and I have every intention of seeing it in print. I won't claim it's about ready to go, because it's not. The cover is still just a sketch, my desire to make it 100% Pathfinder compatible is making the rules writing harder than it would be to just produce a playable game, and our idea of what format and scope we can cover in one book remains in flux.

I'll understand if anyone wants to bail out now... but I DO intend to get this game done. Eventually.

I'll write again with some more info no later than Monday, and I consider myself put on notice that my "weekly update" claim has been severely lacking for the summer.

Thanks for responding, Owen and please don't drop this project.

A PA setting for PF is sorely needed and you will see that support as soon as you even hint at a Kickstarter.

Game on,

Is pre-ordering an option still? Where would one find a link to do that?

Pre-ordering is not currently an option.

The only pre-order we have are those who pre-ordered back when Adamant was in charge of the project. They ended up having significant projects, so we made a deal to take over. The game is not in a condition where I would be comfortable taking new pre-orders yet, because I can;t give a hard date on when it will be ready yet. But we ABSOLUTELY are honoring the existing pre-orders. *Part* of my goal here is to make sure no one is burned by trying to support a Pathfinder-compatible RPG book.

When I can say with confidence "We will release the book on XX date," we'll set up some way for people to get early involvement. That might be pre-orders, that might be a Kickstarter.

If there's not enough support at that time, then we'll send print copies to our pre-orders, and try to figure out what we did wrong. :)

I'm in.

I'm patient, and I can't wait to see the setting in print.

Keep it up, Owen

Heya Folks,

I didn't post last week, because an airport flu had me down. So even though I might normally beg off for my birthday, I wanted to make sure I sent an update today.

While the writing slowly chuggs along, as a company we're still wrestling with exactly how we want to proceed with this book. A Kickstarter is a possible choice, but not necessarily the right one. And before we could even say for sure that was what we were going to do, we'd have to know how many different ways we could produce a book we'd be happy with. Do we offer a B&W interior first, and then color as a stretch goal? Do we want to have 2-3 supplements ready for support, or do we want to include everything we have in the first product if we can?

On top of that, there are issue I'm still not 100% satisfied with on the game mechanics. Options for characters with no magic and no magic items matching Pathfinder fantasy characters of the same level in power level and utility are tricky to balance, especially since I want to be able to do it both with high tech and mutations, and without. Healing alone is proving to require hours and hours of playtesting, and most systems have been scrapped or rewritten from scratch a few times. I think I am on to something... but more playtesting is called for.

I *will*, however, do a better job of updating folks here. :)

I know it might be way too late in the game (pun intended) for suggestions, but you might want to look at the "Strain-Injury variant" developed on the Paizo boards by Evil Lincoln (and others, whose names elude me).  It is a remarkably low-impact change to the system that mitigates reliance on magic\technological healing in a really effective way, and which is supported by the pseudo-abstract definition of "Hit Points" that has been part of Pathfinder from the beginning.

It strikes me that by reducing the reliance on "healing" for survivability, it makes the game not only more cinematic, but by lessening the economic and tactical impact of healing, you mitigate the possible unbalancing effect of variant healing methodologies as well.

Worth a peek, anyhow.
