SmartWifi service is needed for an apartment or house where, for whatever reason, wifi does not spread evenly with a regular router. For example, thick walls and glazed windows can weaken the wifi signal.
With Telia X2 router you can also select a Smart Wifi plan with one device, all other routers require you to select a Smart Wifi plan with at least two devices. You can see the model of your current router in the self-service, where you can also return your former router and rent a new one.
NB! If you have an external router with an over-the-air connection (4G or 5G), to use Smart Wifi, disconnect your previous range extender from the electricity grid and disconnect the network cable behind the router when you pick up your Smart Wifi devices. Then use the Smart Wifi range extender instead of the current one.
The Smart Wifi service requires a Telia Home Internet connection. You can set up your Wi-Fi network with the free Telia Smart Control app, which you can download to your smartphone or tablet computer from the App Store or Google Play store.
The Telia Smart Control app guides you through the setup of range extenders and advises you where to place them. As a rule, the devices are placed in an apartment or house where the signal from the existing wifi network is weak. For more information on how to set up Smart Wifi devices, see our Online Help.
Smart Wifi devices do not increase your internet speed or change its functions. The devices will improve the coverage of the wireless network (wifi), i.e., ensure that the internet is uniformly fast and stable in every residential space.
Under the right conditions, wireless internet can also spread outdoors from devices installed indoors; however, as Smart Wifi devices are not weatherproof or moisture-proof, they should not be installed outdoors.
Band steering: a technology in which the range extender selects the appropriate frequency to ensure the best connection speed. Devices that support 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz will automatically select the frequency.
Network technology: Smart Wifi is a wireless network that allows for a more complete and stable wireless local area network. When the wifi range extender is connected to the Telia Smart Wifi router, a single complete wifi network is formed.
As told in earlier post, I was annoyed by limitation set by the ISP to modify the router. All I wanted to tweak DNS to OpenDNS or Pi Hole as I trust them more rather than ISP DNS. They are fast, they are secure enough, they are for people. But, when logged into the router, saw this.
So, started digging around about the router specification from Sagemcom, and seems there are very limited documentation available on that router. Then found a very helpful thread in a forum ( ) but for different router. Another one, by wuseman, which is old and lots of previous hacks are not working anymore. But, thanks to their effort and documentation, a very basic thing was clear - I can use my existing knowledge of xpath which I learnt for XPATH injection techniques though never successful to get a bounty. ?
Now, how to start with this ? Easy Peasy. Open Firefox or Chrome, open your router IP and login with the details. Then for Firefox, press CRTL+SHIFT+K or for Chrome CTRL+SHIFT+J . In my case, I like Chrome console for XPATH more, for mostly autocomplete feature ( being proudly lazy ) .
My router was suddenly discovered after I upgrade to v 0.80.0. I went on to configure it under Integrations. It is now listed under Integrations but without any unit. Also I have no entity shown under the Integration and also no entity in my list of entities connected to my router.
Should be Techicolor and not thompson if you got one of those older standing onces you should consider upgrading to the tg 799v2 not the best one but the free one that will work (trust me i work for telia) call the customer support and ask for a upgrade router you should consider to either 799 extreme or tg799 vac either of those will work plus you get the 5ghz network rather then the shitty 2,4 network those two cost to upgrade to however.
Nothing wrong about tracert's not showing time. Happens all the time. You can use some additonal operands with tracert to allow waiting longer for a resonse. Note that tracert did complete. Now in your case it looks like something is going on with telia that is causing a large delay at hop 13 and beyond. And it would appear to be a problem in telia net and beyond and not a problem with Verizon. See the decent response up to hop 10.
Any particular server? Telia serves a lot of different customers being dominent for Sweden and Finland and having a presense in a somewhat unusal number of other countries. And of course Verizon cannot do much about problems outside its networks.
that's not a problem with Verizon to Telia. Verizon to telia has a 12ms routing time which is pretty stellar (from your image) and then it goes through 3 or 4 different hops that are telia owned and operated before you see heavy packet loss and time outs.
If you can't browse that site, Then telia may be blocking your IP (either on purpose or by accident) and if that's the case then try this. Either leave your modem off for 2 or more hours (maybe when you go to bed turn it off, and when you wake up turn it back on) that will likely give you a different IP.
OR if you want fast action, then Log into your Verizon Actiontec Router.
Click on MY NETWORK icon at the top.
Select NETWORK CONNECTIONS from the menu on the left.
Select BROADBAND CONNECTION (coax or ethernet) depending on your connection to the ONT.
Click SETTINGS
Click RELEASE
Click APPLY
Disconnect the router immediately to prevent it from re-requesting a DHCP lease. and most importantly leave it off for AT LEAST 5 minutes, preferably ten or more. that way you get a new IP. If you get the same IP then you'll be in the same boat.
Hubrisnxs, I tried that, I realeased and renewed and got a new IP but still can't get to the sites. It's a few Chinese sites in Hong Kong that I frequent but as of the last 3 weeks I can't get to them anymore. I've since added the ZenMate extension to my web browser and am able to get there but if I turn off ZenMate .... no go. I was trouble shooting this with a friend he said to notify Verizon and maybe they would let Telia know they have a bad node? I think he said it was a bad node. I'm not to savy with this stuff which is why I needed help figuring it out. Anywho, I just wanted to mention it here for you guys to see and maybe know how to handle it.
I've been using OpenWRT for my TP-Links etc, but now I got a new WIFI router from my ISP (Telia).
Now, I'm not sure if there is any compatible OpenWRT firmware to use for this router since I can't find it on the Wiki. It's labeled "Telia WiFi router F@st 5370e by Sagemcom". The motherboard says it's a F5370 V3.2.
Telia is a Swedish multinational telecommunications company. It also operates in Lithuania and provides mobile service, FTTH internet, DSL internet and IPTV. Telia rents and sells custom routers and set-top tv boxes to customers which have limited or almost no administration access left to them.
Every Telia router or tv box has a backdoor or "management interface". It is an SSH server running on VLAN 5 and/or WAN. Usually, it is running on port 8022. Older models, like ADB, have password login enabled. The recent newer models, like Technicolor, have password login disabled and only use ssh with public key authentication (spoiler: it is still vulnerable).
Savitarna (in Lithuanian "Self service") - is a web service that allows Telia customers to order and manage services, get invoices, pay bills etc. It uses password authentication or external authority logins such as Facebook, Google, banking, digital signature etc. One of the new features: changing your router's wifi password. Sounds interesting, right? An internet web service that is able to change your local router's wifi password.
