In game marketplace only for Carenado and occasional Asobo/MS planes, but only because I have no choice there. Otherwise their update cycles are simply unacceptable. Why should I wait for an important update or hotfix for weeks which I can get immediately from the developer?

You want ease of installation? The in-game store offers this, but the content manager fails to update packages in my experience. Thus you have to uninstall the package and reinstall it. Other stores offer this as wel with apps like Orbx Central, Contrail and Aerosoft One. With these, the installation is as simple as a click of a button.

The only thing I can remember is that Jrg said that almost every plane for MSFS 2020 should be compatible with MSFS 2024 but I do not remember him saying that all the MSFS 2020 planes would be in MSFS 2024 - even for the base sim.

If you have Traffic set to off, you should not even be seeing AI traffic. Are you sure it's not Vatsim traffic ? MSFS does not show the traffic tail number etc like FSX does. It could be it is Vatsim traffic, but MSFS is only showing ASOBO default aircraft ? May be worth you trying to work with someone, and both log on at adjacent stands to definitively establish if it's AI or Vatsim traffic you are seeing.

Sir, awesome tip! All along I was seeing vatsim planes but I guess the problem is that all the other planes are the same model and variant. So I see just one type of plane all over. Now to fix that issue I tried model matching etc but not working so far.

I am no expert when it comes to model matching, and maybe someone else can pitch in here. But have a look at this video which explains the use of AIG ( Alpha India Group ) for model matching. You can spend hours / days installing all the liveries, or just select a few that are relevant to you. May be worth trying just one or two first and see if it works .

I think I have made some progress by downloading the suggested links. I have them working (at least I hope) but I am getting lots of these errors and I think most of the planes I am seeing are Spirit Airlines airbus.

Well, since there are no FSL, Aerosoft, PMDG etc airliners for the new sim, it's not really possible to make a direct comparison, but if I were to compare some payware stuff (for FSX and P3D) with the default airliners in the new MS sim, I'd say the default aeroplanes offered around ten percent of the systems functionality of a good quality payware FSX/P3D airliner.

This sounds like a lot, and it is, but that said, there is enough functionality in the default aeroplanes to allow you to simulate an airliner flight in a reasonably entertaining fashion as far as navigating and following a flight plan is concerned, albeit without some of the more complex interactions on the FMC.

But the default airliners are a massive improvement systems-wise over the default airliners which were in FSX, since these did not have a functioning FMC at all. The default airliners in the new sim miss out detailed avionics functions such as TCAS, radar modes, INS, various PFD page functions, and operational infrastructure systems such as hydraulics, pnuematics, electrical etc. So the overhead panel and the pedestal is mostly non-functional eye candy.

This only really matters if you are wishing to follow all of the actual checklists and setting up of the real thing. If you just want to drive it from one airport to another with basic ATC and not worry about all that more detailed stuff, they are good enough for that.

I would put them on par with something like a 20 add-on Virtualcol airliner for FSX or P3D, although massively better visually of course. This is not too bad to be fair and is in no way intended to be dismissive of either. I have all those fancy payware airliners for P3D and FSX, but I'm still a fan of Virtualcol's 'jump in and go' aeroplanes, and I have bought literally every one they've ever made, because sometimes I do just want to jump in and go.

Simpler airliners definitely have their place in a flight sim, and especially in this new one from MS, where part of the aim of it is to attract a wider audience, which they would not do if you had to spend 15 minutes aligning the INS before you could even do anything.

Whilst all above are correct, I'm still having a great time flying the A320. No, it doesn't come close to any PMDG or FSLabs in the realism dept, but, everything you need for successful flights are there. The ILS autoland works without a hitch as does the reverse thrust. Yes, it can be quirky, but I'm loving it. It will do until PMDG release the 737. And now we have loads of liveries for the A320!

And the addon developers make a lot of claims about their toys being "tested by real pilots", "almost 99% true to the real thing." This marketed to simmers, who could'nt distinguish a real thing from the Real Housewives of Atlanta.

You should note that certain aircrafts and models you listed including the H135, T-45C and A32nx are all mods and are not part of the default MSFS packages. They can be removed from the community folder.

But complaining about planes you just dont like as well as about these ignorant Asobo guys who dont satisfy you by enabling you to completely and for ever after uninstalling and getting rid of any of these annoying features you did not ask them for personally sounds like childish for me.

I think I have heard that. At least they are not as good as payware plane right ? I am thinking about all versions. For now I have the standard version through Game Pass for PC. But I will not continue using Game Pass so when purchasing it there is no good reason to buy a version above standard if the extra planes are no good.
Not directly related to good or bad but I think still important at least for me. In the standard version most planes are glass cockpit which I don't like. First I have the impression that they hit performance more than analog gauges. Also a little bit difficult to read at least in VR which I use now.
How are the planes in deluxe and premium deluxe in this regard. Which are analog types ?

Yes they are all bad. Flight models of most of them are worse than GTA 5 and takes a lot of tinkering to get them to a semi-acceptable state. Most Instruments and automation are horrible and completely wrong. In comparison the default aircraft in DCS World and XP11 are excellent. In MSFS 2020 The only way you can have a point A to B flight reliably is if you hand-fly the plane, and this is valid for not only the default but the third parties as well. The only decent aircraft in MSFS 2020 that I'll feel a bit more comfortable with flying realistically following realistic procedures in VATSIM, Pilotedge etc is the CJ4 with Navigraph and Working TItle's mod.

This videos shows you what is in each package, planes and airports! It also shows the instruments in the right side smaller video panels. You might have to pause it to look closely! Also, depending on what you like, you might want to download some mods. It's your sim, so up to you! I had REP for a few aircraft in XP-11 but can't remember all of it's features? Depending on what you want, for instance MSFS has Checklist that help you start the default planes, etc... you can either follow it and flip switches or let it do it for you.

If you ever want to upgrade the versions it's expensive if I remember correctly. However if you only want the Standard Version and ONLY plan on adding 3rd party stuff down the road, and NEVER want the other packages, then no big deal. I think it is still the same pricing, for the sim upgrade versions, and such?

I think I have heard that there is NO default aircraft in ANY platform which is great. Some platforms however, have some good to excellent mods to default aircraft. XPLane11 has their default 737 updated by Zibo to excellent payware quality. MSFS has the TBM930, the Bonanza g36, the Airbus 320 the Citation CJ4, the Cessna 152 and maybe some others, all modded substantially and FREE.. I think all the other platforms have relied on payware and to my knowledge no default aircraft in those platforms have been either upgraded nor modded.
