How should we hold schools accountable? What information is useful or important to you? What defines "student success" - and how will we know if we're moving the needle in the right direction?

States across the nation are asking these and other questions as they grapple with the new requirements -- and freedoms -- of the Every Student Succeeds Act. http://sboe.dc.gov/page/essa-updates

And The DC State Board wants to get YOUR thoughts on measuring what matters in education in the post-No Child Left Behind era.

We're kicking off this year-long effort with community conversations in each ward, starting today at 5:30 at the Petworth Library.
