Hi Ward Tools Team.

I purchased the first Droid Moto phone. I have made several attempts
to get Ward tools up and going with no success. I have re-imported
three times. I have also re-installed the application a few times. I
made sure to erase all past MLS files, installed Ward Tools anew,
loaded the files and still the application would not recognize that
MLS files were sitting in the Ward Tools folder that was created by
the application.

I transfered the MLS files three different ways hoping it would make
the difference.
1. Ward PC -USB -home PC -Ward Tools folder
2. Ward PC -Droid SD card via SD card adapter (Ward tools folder)
3. Ward PC -Droid SD card via USB cord (Ward Tools folder)

Please help. There are seven other Droid hand held users in the Ward
waiting to see why I am so excited for this application.

Couple basics to double check:

1. The path on the droid over a USB cable as viewed from the PC's file browser should be \\WardTools. As viewed from the device /sdcard/WardTools (no space!)

2. Make sure you are importing raw CSV files from the MLS export.

I am running WT on a MyTouch Droid...

Can you confirm that you are copying the following four files: Membership.csv, Organization.csv, HomeTeaching.csv, and VisitingTeaching.csv?  Alternatively, if you are using the new converter desktop app, then you'd only need the LDSql_Ward.db file.

Thank you for offering your insight. I double checked the location of
the folder and the imported files. All check out to be as required.
Still no recognition by the application.

I think I may have misunderstood the problem you are having, so let me get some clarification from you.  At what point does it not recognize the files?  Does the import data screen recognize the files?  If so, does it go through the import process as if it is successful, but there are no families, individuals, etc. that get imported?

Thank you for taking the tme to respond. I can confirm that all files
are .csv files except for the organization file.

I was under the impression that a conversion application is needed for
the iPhone, but not for the Droid. The Ward tools import tutorial
says that the Droid will automatically convert the data.

What type of file is the organization file?  That's correct, you don't need to run a converter the app will handle that.

Thank you again. The import data screen says in red font, "MLS data
could not be found!" These are the files I have in the Ward Tools
folder:
HomeTeaching.csv
Organization.csv
VisitingTeaching.csv
MLS Families vCard.vcf

Ward Tools requires all four files to be csv files.  Your MLS login may not allow you to export the Membership.csv file.  Take a look at http://www.wardtools.org/documentation/mls-data/ward-mls to see what files you need to export.  If you don't have access, depending on your calling and needs, your Bishop might approve someone with access (such as a clerk) to get those files to you.

Thanks,
Steve
