just got this odd error:

This on a machine with 1.8GB free on the /tmp drive which is where the
temporary parameter was pointing.
I moved the temporary directory to a much bigger drive and it worked...
/tmp is not a separate file system on this machine.
not an issue - I have a perfectly acceptable work around - just
reporting for information purposes.
