4. Executive Committee Report
1. Attendance: Many of the topics from last week will be
discussed again because of the lack of attendance from our last
meeting
2. Artist Survey: was created and passed out last week. We
still need responses from artists so please pass out to friends. This
will help to facilitate WAR’s growth as we access how we can best help
the artists.
3. WAR folder: we now have a folder to pass around to help
keep track of role call, new events, ideas, progress, comments
suggestions and constructive WAR criticism.
4. New meeting location
1. Rojo: agreed to let us use their space. We are still
waiting on a few other options in order to decide what we want for
sure.
2. Tia Gardener has a studio space located above
Barehands: we are still waiting to get word back from her
3. Alabama Jazz Hall of fame: would be a great spot but
we are waiting to get word from them.
4. BSAC/ Zeta’s: won’t be able to hold a space for us.
5. 5 points west/ Sterne library : still waiting on
Sterne but more than likely it isn’t a possibility because we all need
to be students in order to meet in their conference rooms. We could
try classrooms but that seems to be off limits as well.
5. Treasury Committee Report
1. Budget overview:
2. Dues: Dues were due last week. If you weren’t able to get
in your dues then, you can contribute now. We are still working toward
our 501 © 3
3. Fund-raising ideas discussed last week:
1. Movie night: AJHF/ Rail Road Park. Review proposal
2. Car wash/ donut sale at: bakery, library/ schools/ 5
points s/ UAB
3. Coca Cola gives out free signs we can use for
publicity: who do we contact for that?
4. Ask for donations from businesses: for specific
projects and or general WAR funding
5. Million penny project: we could try that but it
would be pretty similar to our WAR goes green project.

1. Still haven’t been able to reach Jerusahlem for WAR
promotional vid. She’s been sick. We will try again next week.

1. Planning a Hip Hop Festival for late spring/ summer next

1. Becca suggested general cards. We could have those
too for general members but I would like to have some steady meeting
location established before we do that.
9. Publicity Committee
1. Revolution and Brian will work together for the design of
the first SLAP poster by the next general body meeting. We will then
pursue a sponsorship from UPS for the printing and work with the youth
committee as a street team.
10. Youth Committee
1. Upcoming events:
1. auditions for the youth committee will be on the
16th of this month at a location on Bessemer Road.
2. Fred and Patrick are now the youth committee
supervisors. (please be sure to send and update regarding the youth
committee to the exec board after the meetings)
3. Fred or Patrick please give a summary regarding last
youth meeting.
4. Fred and I are still meeting with the school board.
