Friday:
The Japan Program at the University of Alabama is sponsoring a haiku
contest for children and adults as part of the Cherry Blossom Festival
events. The February 18 deadline is just to let me know that your
school wants to participate. The inspiration for this year's contest
is the poem "Daybreak in Alabama" by Langston Hughes. The text of the
poem and other rules for the contest are in the attachment. The rules

Be sure to tell your student contestants about the website. It has
valuable information, including videos of performances at past
