Vanessa Hidary, a veteran of the New York poetry/performance art
scene and HBO's Def Poetry Jam to Birmingham on WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 16
at Ted's Garage (5th Ave South between 23d and 24th, near WorkPlay).
Vanessa will speak to young people early in the evening and at 7:30
the doors will reopen for our fundraiser.
Vanessa's blend of humor and touching observations are compelling. You

Birmingham Mayor's Office Division of Youth Services presents 5K for
Kids: Small Steps to End Childhood Obesity and Youth First Nobesity
Expo on Saturday, March 5, 2011 Legion Field. The cost is only $20.00
per runner for the 5K Run ($10.00 per runner for youth 17 years old
and younger.)
Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. and the run starts at 9:00 a.m.
