Please join us for our next PTA meeting on Thursday, October 10. We will be meeting promptly at 6pm (rather than our usual time of 7pm) so that anyone who wishes to attend the Town Hall meeting with Dr. King will be able to do so. More details on the Town Hall meeting are below. We will be discussing our October and November events and will get an update on the start of the school year.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We could use some help at these upcoming events. If you can help at any of the following, please send email to
wappingers...@gmail.com or call Tom Bridgman at
914-672-0483.
SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR – October 15–18 (Tues-Fri), during the school day
Volunteers are needed to staff the book fair, tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, Oct 15th through Friday the 18th. Volunteers are needed to help set up and take down the displays, assist students with purchases, and ring up sales. Even if you can only help for one day or for limited hours, we would be grateful for your help. The book fair will run from 9 until 2, but some volunteers will be needed to set-up (around 8).
We also desperately need one or two people to be the chairpeople for this important event; chairs are responsible for coordinating the efforts of the other volunteers, counting the money and handling the book fair paperwork. It would be helpful if a chairperson is available on Friday, Oct 11 for delivery of the books (time TBD).
BARNES AND NOBLE NIGHT – November 22, 6:00-9:00pm
Barnes & Noble is hosting a book fair at the store for the PTA. Musical groups from the school will be performing, and a portion of all purchases made with a PTA coupon will be donated to the school. Volunteers are needed to make copies of the coupon flyers in advance, welcome attendees, pass out coupons, and staff our gift wrapping table.
We also are looking for a chairperson to coordinate the schedule for the music groups and coordinate the efforts of the volunteers.
FALL FUNDRAISER CHAIR PEOPLE
The PTA is will be kicking off our major fundraiser before the December holidays. While we have not yet selected what we will be doing (come to the PTA meeting to help us decide!), but we know we will need someone to organize the orders, count the money, and handle the paperwork.
