Greetings fellow software engineers!

I would like to extend congratulations and a round of hearty applause
to all of you who have participated in the contest. You did an amazing
job, and far exceeded my expectations.

Right now, I'm composing a lengthy response to the competition: an
account of what has occurred, together with my goals for the contest
and my impressions of how it played out. I will post this response
within a day, both to this website and elsewhere. I ask that you check
back to read it, because you deserve all the recognition that I am
going to give you in this response.

It will take a couple of weeks to sort through all the applications,
and to scavenge the message boards, so I ask all job applicants to
have patience.

UNA will be released on January 18th, and this is the day you will
receive instructions for downloading your free copy of UNA Personal
Edition. If you did not actively participate in the competition, I ask
that you not submit the answers of others. There will be other
opportunities for winning free software -- that you can count on.

I'll be in touch soon.

Best Regards,

John A. De Goes

I think I deserve a Consolation Prize for wading through the entire
string relating to this "Puzzle" on Slashdot and finding my way to n-
brain.net. Really. I do.

John A De Goes,

Thanks!

I'll save you some time on scavenging and analyzing... been working on
this all day.

http://socialmode.com/2007/12/24/anatomy-of-software-collaboration/
(post and PDF)

You'll find my breakdown of who did what, how long it took, when
breakthroughs occurred, etc. etc. I'd love to have access to any of
your traffic data and would welcome any opportunity to go through the
mounds of info with you. (i'm more than way into the entirety of this
project/concept).

On behalf of everyone who worked on this... THANKS FOR SUCH FUN OVER
THE HOLIDAYS! We look forward to your release.

Hi Russell,

I'm delighted at the analysis you posted and would be happy to
collaborate with you. There is indeed a ton of information to mine.
Drop me a private e-mail and we'll work something out.
