Job Description:
The application support specialist is responsible for leading the applications
support analyst(s) to ensure that the production environment is in an operational
state. The specialist is also responsible for the timely resolution of
production-related issues, and for implementing fixes according to
specifications. The specialist must have detailed knowledge in PeopleSoft
Security, ESS, MSS, HR, ELM, and supporting operating environments from an
Oracle and UNIX perspective.
The scope of responsibilities is detailed as follows.
. Utilize deep knowledge of core PeopleSoft HRMS system functionality for
specific module(s), core PeopleSoft technical tools (.g., SQR/SQL, Application
Engine, Unix, running traces, Datamover, etc.), and other HR Applications to
resolve tickets and implement enhancements.
2. Ensure team's adherence to the development and testing methodology (.g.,
understand and review requirements of ticket or service request, code, code
review, unit test prep, unit test review, and team lead review).
. Ensure team's adherence to the migration procedures when developing code
changes and functionality, including approving migrations.
. Ensure team's work unit modifications are completed according to standards
and to detail design specifications.
5. Develop and demonstrate functional and technical understanding of business
processing in areas of assignment.
6. Ensure team's understanding of how work units/modules integrate with other
work units and with the system as a whole.
7. Create designs and offer input into coding/testing and review code,
configuration, test results, and documentation of PeopleSoft and other HR
software modifications that resolve issues and meet new or existing business
requirements.
8. Ensure resolution of application issues. Translate enhancements, tickets,
and business requirements into PeopleSoft/HR Application and interface
configuration/software requirements
